Dear Mom in the trenches, this blog community is crafted just for you.

Hi, I’m Sara!

I am so glad you are here. Seriously, welcome. I’m a coordinator of my local MOPS group (Mothers of Preschoolers) and love to connect with other moms.

My husband, Joe is wonderful and all around awesome. We just celebrated our ninth anniversary! We have three kids, Claire (6), Evie (5), and Victor (1).

Lewis Kids

In the past year, we not only had our last child, we also sold our house and bought and moved into a new one. Also, Claire, completed Kindergarten and Evie finished preschool. It’s been a whirlwind year!

I was a voracious reader as a child and young adult. I am finally rediscovering that long-lost love of a good book. It might look a little different now with three small kids in the picture. Sometimes I only get a page in at a time, or I’ll sneak in paragraphs at the school pick-up line. It’s a pleasure worth pursuing. Currently, I’m reading Wonderstruck by Margaret Feinberg.

My all time favorite author is C.S. Lewis. I joke with my husband that I married him just for his last name. I totally love coffee and my new-found favorite way to enjoy my brew is a pour over coffee. Yum. And you can never go wrong with dark chocolate.

Encouraging moms that are in the trenches with me is my passion.

The reason I started this blog is to encourage you and to build a mom community that encourages and gives grace. My goal is to write once a week and share my life experiences with you. I may not have all the answers, but what I offer are encouraging words. Dear Mom, I pray these notes to you will make a difference in your life. You can look for a brand new post every Monday morning. And if you comment on a post, I will reply!

How can I encourage you? What are your top three mom struggles?

Feel free to share your struggles with me via your favorite social media or email. I’d love to connect with you and find the best ways to give you encouragement!

So, would you like a couple nuggets of wisdom I’ve learned in the past six years of mothering?

1. Motherhood is best experienced in community.
Don’t mother alone! When we survive together, we thrive together.

2. Grace makes all the difference.

The grace that I have received from God is amazing.
And now I have the honor to give grace.
Giving grace to myself, giving grace to my husband, giving grace to my kids; extraordinarily life changing.

With extended arms and a joyous heart, I cordially invite you to become a grace giving mom with me.

Can you just imagine what would happen if we moms joined hands, encouraged each other and gave grace?
I can!
When you become a grace giving mom it looks like ripples of kindness, hope, and courage that changes the world!
