Dear Mom, When You Feel Less than a Winner
Less than a winner; that’s kind of the polite way to say, “I feel like a loser.”
What’s making you feel that way? It can be a whole slew of feelings, can’t it?
To name a few: tired, anxious, irritable, overwhelmed, depressed, and impatient.
Maybe the worst offender of all? You feel like a bad mom. Perhaps a concoction of circumstances have triggered acting poorly towards your husband, kids, or just in general.
It’s been a bad or hard day and it’s just got you feeling worn down, wrung thin, and not feeling like a winner.
Yep, I’ve been there. Countless times. And I know waves of women who can also relate. In those moments of feeling “less than” is there an antidote?
Scripture is a powerful tool to combat feeling like a loser. It can turn a sour moment into a sweet day. Certain verses are just a balm to a wounded soul. When I need encouragement here are a few of my favorite verses to renew my mind and redeem my day.
For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.
2 Timothy 1:7
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
I’ve made these verses into beautiful shareable graphics for you.
Feel free to email, post on Facebook/Instagram, or even just save to your phone. Sometimes a visual reminder is that breath of fresh air that pushes us through the finish line of another day in the life of motherhood.
What’s your struggle today, and what verses encourage you?
