Last week I had the opportunity to guest post for Ms Rachel Lee in her stories of hope series. I shared like never before about my struggles with depression. May it encourage you.
Verse of the Day: Matthew 11:28
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11:28 NIV
So needed to hear this reassurance from my Lord.
I need His rest so desperately this week.
God can handle it.
Hey friend, I don’t know what you’re going through this week, but whatever storm you’re facing, God can handle it.
If you’re mad, shout to Him. He can take all your anger. He’s bigger than those ugly feelings.
Are your burdens so weighing you down that you feel helpless and hopeless? God promises to give us rest. If we let Him.
Oh dear heart, the God of the universe cares for you. There is nothing, not anything that can make him love you less. His love covers a multitude of hurt, pain, and anything that we think separates us from His goodness.
When I need reminded of God’s goodness I often turn to music. One of my favorite hymns of all time is Be Thou My Vision. Just read and soak in these words:
Be thou my Vision
Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art.
Thou my best Thought, by day or by night
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.
Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word.
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.
Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise
Thou mine Inheritance, now and always
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart
High King of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art.
High King of Heaven, my victory won.
May I reach Heaven’s joys, O bright Heav’n’s Sun.
Heart of my own heart, whate’er befall
Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.
