This is the fourth deployment that I have been part of with my hubby. The first one was a few months after we started dating, the second was not long after we were engaged, the third one he got home right before our first Christmas as a married couple, and now the fourth we’ve got two kids in tow! Between the third deployment and this one there was about a four year break so even though I’ve been through all this before I feel a little rusty on the process.
All I know is I have got to stay busy and have some goals in place while hubs is gone. The staying busy won’t be too hard since we have two vivacious little girls. Claire is a smarter-than-a-whip, non-stop chatter box 2 year old that has the typical dawn to dusk energy. While Evelyn (Evie) is our always-happy-except-while-I’m-teething little bundle of energy at ten months. The obvious hard part will be evening time when the girls expect Daddy to be home from work and Mommy joyfully accepts help tucking the energetic sisters into bed. And then there is the empty evening and a bed that swallows me whole as I lay there by myself just trying to go to sleep.
So leaves the goals part. I don’t want to overwhelm myself with a massive check off list, but I need something to help weed out the lonliness. So far I’ve gotten a few great inspirations from Pinterest including a 15 minute sexy leg work out plan, lots of healthy recipes, and of course mind boggeling DIYs for home improvement. The trick will be not to only just start, but to follow through.
