Hubby and I went on vacation. Just a two-nighter and not too far from home. This time away was not just a nicety but a necessity. We needed time away to just relax together.
Coming home from a 2 1/2 month over seas deployment hubby was naturally ecstatic to see me and the kids, but we were both (okay, mostly me!) ready to shortly after his return give up parenting responsibilities for a couple of days. We were slightly anxious to get our vacation going so our darling daughters were dropped at the nearest grandparents a night early giving them a total of 3 nights away from us. (Thanks Mom and Dad!)
We didn’t do a whole lot on our vacation which was perfect. We ate when we wanted (except for our breakfasts which were promptly at 9am in our must-go-back-Bed and Breakfast, The Inn at Brandywine Falls), took short and sweet (short since in was 95 and humid!!!) walks around the Falls, played Monopoly, drove around seeing sites inside our wonderful AC filled car, and spontaneously visited the Cleveland Art Museum!
George and Katie Hoy, the Inn Keepers, are just about the best hosts possible and really serve up gourmet breakfasts along with charming, inspiring conversations. They’ve been doing this for 25 years so I would definitely call the Hoy’s experts in the field of hospitality. I honestly would go back in a heart beat.
