I mustered out a smile for each of my pictures this week because a friend mentioned she missed my smiles in the previous weeks. (Previously, I was concentrating on getting the picture, or in a hurry to get back to my darling girls to see what they were up to, so I guess that made for a very serious face)
With most days being in the low 60’s this first week of June, it was a little easier to pull off some of my hubby-ware.
Overall, even though the weeks are going decently fast, this past week was just completely EXHAUSTING.
I try to hide it as best as I can, but decided to show my tired face in the one pic.
Balancing a 27 month on one hip and a 12 month on the other is not an easy task. Plus, my blue-eyed princess is still recovering from her one-year shots and teething. (If you aren’t a parent, this equates to very little sleep and super clingy days). I could have never imagined the sheer amount of energy it takes to feed, change, play, teach, and unconditionally love these sweet darlings.
Nearly every day my very intellectual two-year-old declares, “When the vitamins are all gone, Daddy will be home!” She’s really caught on to this visualization and loves seeing the days get closer with each vitamin taken. (Read about our vitamin jar here)
There’s a certain pride that comes with keeping everything together during a deployment, and after six weeks I’m definitely feeling pretty proud of myself! However, I am also quite ready for my man to be home as well 🙂
And, for the ladies that keep it together for months upon months, all I can do is applaud.
