Without being too specific on dates and locations for safety purposes, I will say that the deployment sendoff is now quickly approaching. Just a matter of weeks now.
Last month I had a complete meltdown from thinking…worrying…about the approaching date. However, I now feel I have finally just accepted he’s leaving and that lifts a great burden. Acceptance is always the first step. So now to step number two: goal setting. To survive a deployment a military wife has to set goals and stay busy.
You know, I’m lucky. He’s only gone for a couple months. That is a very short time in the military world. So if you’re a military wife or girlfriend and you’ve endured or are currently enduring a long deployment I can only applaude you, and I won’t even pretend I can fully relate. With that said, a deployment is still a deployment and it is still hard to see our loved one leave.
